Struggle is not the Key for Success

“CEO”, “Vice President”, “Country Head”, “Branch Manager”,  “Sales Manager” and many more…What are all these?
Yes, you guessed it right. These are LABELS / TITLES which one gets as per their expertise, skill set and experience. Either we have it or aspire to have them, initially we start living for them and later our life gets controlled by them.
Once we attain one of the titles, we crave for the next one. We extend our office hours, ignore our personal life, compromise on our self-image and can even do something unethical to harass our juniors or leave our colleagues behind.
Suppose, a person is working for a large corporation as “Regional Manager” and next LABEL he is struggling for would be “National Manager”. For that, he would work really hard, push his competitors away, please his boss, ignore his family and health and after 2-3 years of back breaking work, he may get the new LABEL of “National Manager”.
Now what? He is going to celebrate and be happy with the new “LABEL” for how many days, 7 / 15 / 30 days or even little more. And after that he will crave for the next LABEL, may be “Assistant Vice President”. Also during these 2-3 years of struggle, he would have lost his peace of mind, filled his mind and heart with so many negative thoughts & feelings. He may also have ruined his relationships with his spouse, kids, colleagues and juniors.
But this doesn’t really mean that we should become content and live a mediocre life. Life is all about expansion, growth and success but no SUCCESS should be given value higher than mental health, physical health and relationships.
The best way for getting success in any aspect of life – Work, Good Health (mental & physical) and Soothing Relationships etc. is to maintain a balance between everything and reduce your stress at work (as one spend major part of their day in office only). You may try these points to overcome stress to a certain extent:
  • Try to extend your deadlines:  Stop being a part of some rat race. If you can give some more time to yourself to achieve your target, the pressure would be less. With less pressure and out of rat race, chances are less that you do things the other way. I can understand that few deadlines cannot be ignored or extended but your personal career targets can be modified.
  • Time Management: Stay organized, focused and manage your time appropriately. Always make a “To-Do List” so that you don’t need to overlook things you need to do. Prioritize your work and don’t allow yourself to be distracted by unimportant things.
  • Spend quality time with your family: Your sweet family can act as a true stress buster. Go for some outings, play with your kids or just relax at home with your favourite music. Spending good time with family on weekends can rejuvenate you for your battle on weekdays.
  • Do Yoga and Meditation: Yoga and meditation can change the way you look the world, which in turn can lower the stress and relax yourself and energize you for your day to day struggle.
  • Do spontaneous activities: Walking in rain, Sketching, Painting, Poetry, Photography or anything that can give you some time to meet your inner self.
Instead of struggling for any “LABEL”, start enjoying the journey towards that “LABEL“ of your choice with everyone. This way you can have the feeling of actually achieving it and not losing something on the way to success. Only such a situation can be termed as “WIN-WIN” situation for yourself.
And as our Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar says, “I always had a dream to play for India but I never let it put pressure on me.”
When you are at peace with yourself, you will deliver your best, ALWAYS!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. Please feel free to share if you know some one who live for "LABELS" or your opinion on how justified it is to lose something while struggling for Success.
We look forward to your feedback and comment on this write-up.

Silver Drops from Heaven...

“Bachpan ke who ameeri ke din, Jab pani mein apne bhi jahaaz taira karte the”

Bachpan, the phase of life with total carefree attitude, can never be forgotten, especially those drenched in the drops of rain.
Though every season has its own memories to cherish but rainy season is always the most memorable time.
When we were kids, rain used to bring a new excitement in life. Getting wet in the first rain of the season, dancing with no music, at times with parents’ permission – sometimes without, it was much more pleasurable than taking a bath in your private Jacuzzi.
Floating the self-made paper boat and getting it into a race, cheering aloud for each other, without caring for winning or losing.
Enjoying a sudden school holiday on the name of “Rainy Day,” especially when you were ready to leave for school. The happiness enjoyed during this one day holiday is far better than any overseas vacation.
Not only in childhood, rains have made a special corner of memories during our adolescence as well. We would still remember the first romantic rain date with our sweet heart. Completely drenched clothes, water dripping from hair and the sheer naughtiness in eyes, no other looks can be more seducing than this. Eating from only one roasted corn, holding hands & adoring the togetherness and wishing that this moment should never come to an end.
Despite knowing deep in the heart the fear to face the family, who would ask why didn’t you used the umbrella which you were carrying, going all out and enjoying this moment as if it is the last rain of the season. Preparing the answers to the questions which parents may put up and showing a cute smile on our face after lot of attempts to hide it.
Even now, we eagerly wait for this momentous season, when the smell of the wet soil rejuvenates us better than some session in a spa.
Our all-time favourite “Besan ke Pakore with Adrakki Chai” at home can easily replace our fine-dine restaurants any time.
A long drive to nowhere with spouse or family, with ghazals or romantic music, is going to stay in our memories for ever, thanks to this exceptional shower.
Even at work, we always try to wind up early and leave for home to enjoy and relive our good old memories.
Earlier or now, rain has always made our lovely moments memorable.
I know few of us might not like this season, but since most of us really do, let me end this with few lines by Langston Hughes:
“Let the rain kiss you,
Let the rain beat your head with silver liquid drops,
Let the rain sing you a lullaby”

If you love the music of rain or have some lifetime memories with it or simply love this season, do share it with us.
Feel free to leave your valuable feedback.

An Unusual Treat for Parents...

“Sharma Uncle and Aunty are going to Singapore on a holiday for ten days”, I said excitedly serving breakfast on the dining table.
“Oye-hoye ! So this means that they are going on a honeymoon at this age”, my husband replied sarcastically taking his chair.
His answer was very common and many of us react the same way whenever we get to know about any aged couple going for a trip all alone.
Did we realize that we hardly get any such news about them going on a holiday alone?
During a telephonic conversation, I asked my mother, “Mumma, why don’t you and papa plan a foreign trip?”. To this she replied in a shocking tone, “Who, Me and your Papa, on a holiday, at this age. No beta, It would be a complete waste of money. The best option would be to give this money to our kids instead of spending on our trip.” Her reply made me so upset.
I still remember when my father got mine and my brother’s passport made, he was sure that sooner or later we will need it but at that age I couldn’t understand why they have not applied theirs.
Parents spent major part of their life in raising their kids, meeting their endless demands, fulfilling their all wishes and working whole life like some bonded labour. When they have performed their duties really well and made us capable to manage our life, they deserve the whole world, why a jolly time with their spouse should seem to them as a waste of money?
Sitting in an aircraft and going to a foreign destination must be a dream which they would have wished in their late 20s or early 30s, but their family responsibilities and related expenses would have made them hide or bury this desire in the deepest layer of their heart.
One thing which makes me feel proud of my husband is that he has gifted the very first international holiday, A Royal trip to Dubai, to his parents. When he was giving the tickets and package documents to them, I could actually notice some tears of happiness in their eyes.
While initially they had so many fears related to them going alone, food and language problem but soon I could easily spot the courage to face this new world all together again in them. Within just hours of this discussion, we all could see their rejuvenated spark, excitement, enthusiasm.
My Father-in Law told me that when he mentioned about this trip to his boss, he replied “You are definitely going to face many challenges there. I would suggest not go alone like this in this age.”
Few people discourage every bold move; they seem to have forgotten that ‘These Aged People’ have conquered all the challenges of life, all alone, why they would a companion or kids for some foreign trip.
I can visualize without even closing my eyes, how they would enjoy there, the joy they will feel while shopping, sight-seeing, clicking photographs, tasting different cuisines and most importantly being together all alone to see a new & unexplored world.
It’s not about spending money, it’s about the care we show towards the dreams of those who just lived and worked to make our dreams come true.
When Sharma Uncle and Aunty came back from their trip, they seemed so rejuvenated, glow was on their faces and they were so excited to share all of their experiences and wanted to show their shopping.
I wish and pray to God to give this privilege to my parents as well so that can also enjoy this different side of life.

P.S. - If you have ever thought of or gifted any unusual gift to your parents, do share it with us. Also, feel free to leave your valuable feedback.

Diary of The Strange Neighbour

To read the prequel of this story : The Strange Neighbor, please click here..

It was around end of summer and rainy season had just started. Oh no, now again all clothes will remain wet, water will stagnate on roads and we need to make all plans as per weather condition. Why is that rains never bring any excitement to me.
Life was completely monotonous until something really interesting has happened. “The new neighbours” moved to the house just opposite to ours.
A complete 4 member family, husband (he seems handsome), wife (confused with why did he chose her) and their 2 sons.
Uff, a huge truck arrived in our locality, completely packed with furniture and countless boxes. I was really excited to guess what they must have packed in those big and small boxes. Looking at all those materials, it seems either the family will be of 8 members or his wife must be spendthrift.
One week have now gone by and they finally appeared to be settled into their so called Sweet Home. All this while, I was waiting for her to come to our house, to ask for some help – either to get contact numbers of electrician, plumber or at least for her introduction. But she didn’t come, she seems very proud. Hmm, who cares whether she comes or not. If I would have been at her place, I would have completed this task in 3 days only as I am more experienced as a home maker.
Every now and then I see them going out, I am sure that this lady doesn’t cook any food for the poor husband and kids hence only solution for them is to go out for meal. I am sure, look at their younger son. Though he has completed 1 year (I suppose) but he appears very thin. Aww, poor baby, I wish his mom would feed him properly or maybe I could feed him and make him chubby like my kids.
Whenever they go out I keep on looking at her clothes. Somebody please tell her that she is the mother of 2 and it doesn’t look nice to wear capri and jeans. She thinks of herself as some college going girl and must be spending all of her time in taking care of her looks. Being also a mother of 2 kids, I know what a lady should wear, she must wear salwar kameez and sarees just like me.
One day I went to her to meet her son’s dance tutor. Oh finally I got to know what they must be hiding in those boxes. People living on rent generally don’t buy expensive stuffs and they were having split AC, microwave, dining table, wooden baby cot and many other possessions. She has spent a lot of hard earned money of his poor husband.
Once I asked her to teach computer to my daughter but she just ignored, huh, how rude of her. Whenever I feel like I send my kids to her house to play. After all what are neighbours for, I am sure she must not be busy enough not to take care of 2 more children, like me.
They are definitely a strange family, nahh, husband and kids are fine, I should rather say A Strange Neighbour. One thing is for sure, these types of people add spice and gossip to your monotonous life.
I have just got the news that they might be shifting to a new house very soon. Till now I have not even known much about them and they are going.
God only knows who is going to come in that house but I wish to meet more neighbours like this Strange Neighbour....

Love your Work and Success will Follow...

Few months back, my mind gave up to the fact that it is completely impossible to manage both the kids along with household daily chores, hence I decided to get a domestic help from some agency.

While I was discussing this issue with my husband, my son overheard it and immediately responded with anxiety, “Mumma, get everything done from the maid but hope food will be cooked by you only. You are my only MASTERCHEF.”

I know the fact, that I am not a great cook but these words of appreciation were more valuable than the remuneration any 5 star hotel chef would get.

That was the day when I realized that work done with full dedication and wholeheartedness can never go unrecognized. This made me realized the importance of a famous quote by Steve Jobs “The only way to do Great Work is to Love what you do.”

Very well said… It doesn’t matter, whether you are a Managing Director of a MNC or work as a Sales Executive in a small firm. You could be a full time mother or a part time housewife (working woman), never put yourself down, never think you are not doing anything significant.

The nature of your work or your title in organization doesn’t matter, all that matters is your love and passion for work.

Unless or until you love your work and give 100% to it, you are never going to get any recognition.

The same thing I came across in a famous read by Robin Sharma, ‘A Leader who had no Title’. It’s all about performing all your duties like a leader and giving your nothing but the very best and for that you need no big title.

So, friends, stop searching or waiting for any title to do something great… Enjoy what you do and people will definitely notice your work. Remember,
“Love your Work and Success will Follow”

Your Wish Is Your Command

Good morning and May God bless this day!

Before you all start to read what came straight from my heart, I would like to show my heartfelt gratitude to one of my dear friend, Santosh Tiwari, who have introduced me to this KNOWN yet WIDELY UNKNOWN power of positive thinking and our mind..

You must have noticed a recent message which is flashing everywhere in social media sites. The story goes like this:

There was a businessman who went completely broke and was sitting all alone in a park. He was approached by a person who after listening to his entire story decided to help him by issuing a cheque worth USD 5, 00,000. He asked the businessman to return this money after 1 year when they meet next in this park. Having a sense of security, the businessman decided not to use this money and rebuild his empire. With all this confidence and sense of security, he started making big deals through better negotiation and repaid all his debts. After 1 year, while he was eagerly waiting to meet the gentleman to return his cheque and thank him for all his support, he saw some medical attendants running after the same person while he was approaching to this businessman. They asked the businessman if he has been hurt by this guy as he is insane and keep telling people that he is Warren Buffet and issues cheques just like that. During that moment this businessman realized that all this while he doesn’t have any security and whatever he has achieve in last 1 year was through a feeling pattern created by his mind.

Friends, it isn’t financial security, material possessions or happiness which makes us realize bigger dreams in our life. It is only the feeling of having them makes us reach our true potential. If you can feel the sense of being rich i.e. abundance of everything and shows your gratitude towards it, you can accomplish anything and everything which you aim for. Trust me when I say that you can become successful if you start behaving like a successful person. Mind creates the blueprint of everything before it gets manifested in real world. The moment you can visualize yourself in exact state of what you wish for yourself, it is the beginning when you can be sure of big changes in your life. This technique holds the ground since the time of great sculptor, Michale Angelo. He used to visualize a beautiful image and chip away all the extra stone to make world’s most beautiful masterpieces.

I too was completely shattered during mid of year 2009 when bad news started pouring in from every nook and corner. My family was badly disturbed and only topic of discussion was How to get out of this mess. This is when Santosh came in and asked me to see a video called The Secret by famous Rhonda Byrne, as many times as I possibly can. I initially thought that how am I going to eradicate my problems watching this video but when I first saw the video, I was zapped. The principles were simply profound and makes so much sense that I couldn’t resist but to start practicing them quickly. It ranges from Thinking positive thoughts, Giving gratitude for your possessions, both current & future and The 3 basic steps of Ask, Believe & Receive to achieve whatever you aspire for. I than realized that all it takes is to think positive thoughts only for yourself and everyone around you to make this world, a better place for everyone. It is rightly said by various geniuses of our time that it takes multiple negative thoughts to erode a positive thought but a single positive thought can erode multiple negative thoughts.

The best part of positive thinking is that it creates an aura and energy around you which attracts similar people or changes people to match your frequency. My whole family started focusing on those simple principles of positive thinking and mind power and we started noticing things happening the way we wanted. Our situation started improving, everything became in our favor and we came out of that so called MESS within 6 months of time.

While I strongly encourage and recommend everyone to think positive and nothing but positive thoughts, I would also like to add a caveat to it i.e. TRUST. Without trust nothing ever can be accomplished and it is rightly demonstrated by farmers & expecting mothers. Their trust that one day a beautiful outcome, be it a flourishing crop or a cute baby, will come to this world remains unwavering throughout and does not force them to dig deep and check every now & then.

Towards the end, I would like you to remind one of the famous Verse of Holy Bible (Mathew 7:7) – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”

My best wishes to every reader of this article for a highly successful and blessed LIFE ahead.

May God bless all!!

SALES - 'S'omewhere 'A't 'L'east 'E'veryone 'S'MILES....

Yesterday, my family went to a local mall to watch a new flick hence we thought to grab a quick bite at some fast food joint. We went to the food court where there were many small outlets for both Indian and international cuisines.
Looking at the paucity of time, we didn’t give much thought and ordered our meals from McDonald’s. While I was waiting for our food, all of my attention was grabbed by few sales men standing in front of an outlet serving Italian and Chinese food.
They all were greeting every one with a smile and showing menu cards to every passer-by, inviting them to order food from their shop but to my utter amazement, nobody gave a serious thought to their invitation.

While I was feeling really bad for them, one thought hit my mind badly - How they guys must be feeling at that moment of time. Though it was their job but this kind of work definitely needs something more than just selling skills.

My heart goes out for all the sales men, tele-callers, who strive day & night to generate big sales volumes for large corporations.
Every day for multiple number of times, they feel rejection by different people but like a brave solider, they again get up for next sales call with same level of enthusiasm and smile at their face, as if they have not lost but won a battle of this war called LIFE.

I may not be presumptuous to say that even a single rejection can make us feel low for the whole day or even more but we hardly think second time before saying a blunt NO to them. Sometimes we even scold them badly and carry on our routine work with a smile as if no heart was broken. We consider this rejection as part of their job & expect them to keep on working despite of the way we treat them.
When we faced any rejection, we quickly blame & expect that other person should have taken care before doing this to us. Why don’t we try to gauge the pressure of these tele-callers and sales men – How do they plan to manage their daily sales targets and speak to every single client with jolly good mood.

There is also another side of this story – Does this type of rejection impacts only their professional life or it affects their personal life too. Do they also feel unwanted at home with their parents, siblings and spouse. Does their family extends a helping hand, understands and accept them so that they may overcome this daily rejection syndrome.
Only solution to this problem is to treat them as our fellow humans and appreciate their efforts. Next time when we get any sales call / approached by any sales person, whether we buy anything from them or not, just be brave to say these magic lines in a soft and encouraging voice: YOU ARE DOING A WONDERFUL JOB. This way you can add smile on their face and give confidence to them to keep moving forward.

And as Woody Allen quotes “There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with a salesman?”

S_CCESS Is Looking For U..

Good morning and May God bless this day!

"Every blade of grass has its angle that bends over it and whispers, Grow – Grow”, the most striking and inspirational quote by The Talmud, which redirects you towards the ultimate aim of life.

LIFE, one of the most prized possessions of God, which comes to this planet to experience growth in every possible area & aspect, be it spiritually, mentally or professionally. It gives me goose bumps to even imagine a life which is monotonous and doesn’t aspire for growth but people still call themselves busy & happy with the rut routine of life.

Mediocre life is not at all on the agenda what the almighty has given us to deliver. He has given us a 12 pound brain which sits between our shoulders and has the capacity to manifest anything and everything through sheer focus.

People normally give up to task/s, calling it difficult without giving an attempt of try. Fact of the matter is that no task is difficult and cannot stay unaccomplished but it is considered easy or difficult by our mind only, which restrict us from trying it out from the fear of failure. When we see someone accomplish the similar task, we call him / her lucky and blessed with some special powers and pay our tribute of being a mediocre person.

If you want to become successful, adopt some of the important traits / habits of very successful people, which is to:

  1. Wake up with the sun and plan your day & life ahead.
  2. Prepare your goal sheet, give dates to your targets and visualize them getting accomplished.
  3. Read at least for 30 minutes a day. Reading help make profound changes as it nourishes your mind and help you realize your inner self / what already exist in yourself.
Realizing the hidden potential of these basic habits, I started practicing them almost 3 years ago and have noticed tremendous changes in my life both personally and professionally. I have accomplished lot of my LIFE’s targets ranging from a very blessed family, financial freedom, highly satisfying job and a very bright future.

Towards the end, love to leave some thought provoking lines from a famous read by Robin S Sharma, A Leader Who Had No Title, ‘Success lies is accomplishing small daily targets’.

My best wishes to every reader of this article for a highly successful LIFE ahead.

May God bless all!!

The Strange Neighbor

It’s almost one year from now, when we planned to shift to a new house in a very decent locality. All of us were very excited about the house (as it was very spacious and beautiful) and the neighborhood (we were hardly disappointed).

Anyways, we did all the packing and moved to our new territory. In spite of being exhausted we settled down within a week.

From then, I have been noticing one lady with extreme behaviours, who lives just opposite to our house (our strange neighbour of course). She kept staring at us (especially me, don’t know why) from top to bottom just like some cheapster with no whistle. It makes me feel embarrassed and initially forced me to think that there could be some flaw with my clothes. Besides this, I always pretended to be normal and greeted her well but she would always give me a very cold gesture. But, as time passed, I understood that she is like this only. Well, this kept on going for few months and I convinced myself that only God knows about what’s wrong with her mind.

Few months later, she started small conversations with me and I responded very warmly. She would say, ‘Oh! Your son is so weak. Don’t you feed him? Leave him with me, I will make him chubby’ as if either we don’t have food at our home or she is his mother. But, I always responded with a smile at her silly comments.

My elder son is learning dance and we decided to let him learn at home so that he can get individual attention. When she got to know this, she started insisting, ‘Send your kid to my kid’s dance class. His learning there will be much better.’ I seriously fail to understand why few people interfere so much.

And to my utter amazement, after one month, she was the one who came with her kids to our house saying, ‘I want my kids to learn dance from your son’s teacher.’ I heard a small voice in my heart which was nothing but a mischievous smile!!

That was the day, when she started visiting our home like some shopping mall, wandering here and there, inspecting each and every room, kitchen and even bathroom. Also, noticing and touching every item without my permission and asking vague questions looking at any expensive item like AC, microwave etc., ‘Who bought it, YOU? What’s the price?’

Oh God! Why are some people so irritating? Who else can give this to us? Why such question whether we can afford this or not.
I am glad that she never asks me, ‘Are these kids yours or somebody has gifted them?’

Now I have realised that whenever she had some work or wish to take a quick nap, she send her kids (not just kids, super naughty kids) to our place saying, ‘Aunty must be feeling bored, go play with her and kids’. She is cunning enough to know that since I have two kids and lots of work to do, how can I get time to feel the boredom.

During summer vacations, one day, she told her daughter that, ‘We have wasted our money for sending you to computer class. You would have learned it from Aunty for free and she will be able to revise her studies’. Oh! What a great idea!!

She is the local news reporter who keeps a track of my husband’s office timings, his lunch menu, may be his shirt’s color too.

My husband always suggests me that I should give her a tough time for her strange behavior but I couldn’t gather much courage. Well, she is definitely not going to change hence I don’t want to spend my time and energy on people like her.

Finally, many thanks to God that we have finally decided to move to a new house before next summer. Then we will not be someone’s target for daily news updates but someone else may be.

But, what if, we get someone like her waiting there for us with those staring eyes and strange behavior. God please save us from these types of ‘Strange Neighbors’.

Hey Adam - Wait for your perfect Eve !

Last weekend, forcefully, I went to watch ‘Ranjhanaa’ with my family. I am purposely late in posting this article as I didn’t want to reveal the suspense to those who haven’t seen it. Though the movie was satisfactory but the story line made me upset. Both the lads, Abhay Deol and Dhanush, who were madly & blindly in love with Sonam Kapoor, succumbed.

One thing that makes me mad is how can love makes anyone so crazy that he just ruins or even worse, ends up his life.

It’s not something which is just shown in movies but it is happening everywhere - around us, in our locality or may be in our own family but we may still be unaware. We all take it for granted that boys are tough and can take anything & everything jokingly but fact of the matter is that they easily gets victimized through this feeling.

I can recollect one such grievous incident which happened in our neighbourhood. A 21 year old boy, a very dynamic student, the only son of his family, ended his life by committing suicide. The reason was a girl in her life, whom he loved dearly but she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. How unfortunate it is that a girl, who may not even have similar / any feelings, become so important to someone that she fades away all the love, which their parents & siblings would have given him.

BOYS!! Please always remember that you are darn special and important to so many people. Your life and death matter to them, their numberless dreams tagged with you and their life just revolves around you. How can you let a girl overpower the love of all these people?

The famous saying “Love is Blind” alludes that lovers tend to overlook their sweetheart’s faults. It definitely doesn’t imply that you can’t understand what is good for you and your life.
LOVE, such a sacred feeling, makes you to love your life, live it with zeal and do something for your love / loved ones. LOVE is meant to make life beautiful and inspire for living and not death…

An untold truth for all the Gentlemen!! If women are the most beautiful creation of God, believe me, you are the most handsome creation of God!! You play every role so responsibly, be it of a son, a brother, a father, a husband or a lover.

Emotions are good but don’t get carried away so much with your feelings that someone, who doesn’t even care for you, play with your heart.

You have your own life, your family, your responsibilities, how can it be ruined like this?

Whenever anyone gets into any such situation, he should try to move on in his life.
So rightly said, “Time is a great healer”, leave everything to time and follow these points:
  1. Try to divert your mind with your favourite sport or activities like gymming, watch comedy movies/serials as laughter is a great medicine.
  2. Spend more time with good friends and family.
  3. Avoid visiting places or doing activities which reminds you of her.
  4. Never listen to sad songs like, ‘Jab dil hi toot gaya hum je eke kya karenge’ or ‘Jeeyein to jeeyein kaise bin apke’.
  5. Focus on your career/studies.
  6. Remember your parents are the only one who loves you unconditionally and will be with you in all trials and tribulations.
And wait for the perfect girl, the girl who will love you more than anyone else, who will make you feel special and she would be the only one who will deserve you completely.

One more thing to share is never blame anyone for your condition not even the girl. It’s her life and she is free to take any decision about her life. Like it is important not to hurt yourself, it is equally important not to hurt the girl as well.

Always keep in mind that you are the sculptor of your life and God have sent you from heaven to carve it beautifully.

Let me conclude it with the help of few lines of a poem by George Linnaeus Banks :

“I live for those who love me,
Whose heart are kind and true,
For heaven that smiles above me,
And waits my spirits too.”

H for ‘Happy Holidays’

Yesterday was the last day of my son’s summer vacations. I still remember the very first day, where the thoughts of handling both the kids were like separating salt from the sea. These 45 days were so restless that I just end up picking up toys from the floor, cleaning spilled juices, arranging books lying here & there and even shouting as if some devil has possessed me.

Every morning, I woke up with great enthusiasm to execute number of plans with my kids but as the time passes hour by hour, it just ends up into turmoil. At the end of the day, “Thank God, one more day has passed” were the only words I could utter.

Icing on the cake was the endless holiday homework given to all pity mommies. Ranging from colourful charts to illustrative scrap files and decorative art & craft with all the research behind it.

I wish I had a Magic Lamp with Genie, who, upon rubbing the lamp, comes out and shouts out his loud words, “Your Wish is My Command”. It could have made my job as a mother, much easier and simpler. My simple order of “Make this project for me” would have given me a Wow feeling!! But unfortunately there is no magic lamp, no Genie but me, the poor soul who needs to do it.

One thing which I fail to understand is what the school is going to do with all such masterpieces.  Well, anyhow, I had poured all my creativity in getting all the work to the finishing line for which I certainly deserve a pat on my back.

Holidays are meant to be a period for relaxation and rejuvenation. Schools may have made it like this for kids but not for mothers. For all the supermoms, it is nothing less than winning some battle. They need to spend some leisure time in a spa at a resort, all alone of course, after these summer vacations to charge up themselves for the next battle, Assessments. Well, I can actually imagine myself on a holiday getting a head massage, Ooooo, I really need it!

And now, as the 45 days of back breaking work has come to an end, I have started feeling sentimental for being away from my little hero for major part of the day, 8 hours daily.

How strange it is and I hope you would agree with me that we as human beings react so oddly to a new change in daily routine but as time passes, we are the first one to get adapted to it so quickly and beautifully (Wow, I just got a new topic to write upon).

For me, this year’s summer vacation has gone quite well, Senior learned to dance, Junior learned to stand steadily on his own feet and Husband got a new assignment, but dear God, while I show my gratitude for your kindness on me and my family, please don’t forget to give me more courage to make these much awaited holidays, truly HAPPY HOLIDAYS....
